Movie Monday – “Heaven is For Real”

*Since I went to the moviesa few Sundays ago, I will be doing Movie Monday this week instead of Music Monday.

I did not really think about seeing Heaven is for Real. I read the book and really liked it but for whatever reason, I just had not planned on seeing the movie. My grandmother wanted to see it so my mom and I took her to see it…and I’m glad I did 🙂

Since the timeline in the book takes place during a few months, or maybe a year, the movie had to shorten it. While the movie did leave some things out, the writers/producers kept the important facts in the movie. Honestly, I don’t think that anything changed from the book. It was all the same (except for what needed to be deleted due to time constraints).

Without giving too much detail (in case you want to read the book and/or watch the movie), the book is about 4-year-old Colton who, while having emergency surgery, goes to Heaven. (The doctors say he did not actually die). He describes Jesus, angels, the beauty, etc., in a way that no “normal” 4-year-old can. (I’m going to leave it at that. Just read/watch it) 🙂

If you want to see it (or even if you don’t), go watch it. I’m sure you’ll be glad you did. I was 🙂
