Weekend Update [7.6.26]

It was a traveling, patriotic, beach weekend!!

Friday

Friday was spent washing clothes, packing, and dropping the cats off at the vet for boarding.

Saturday

Saturday, we were up early, dressed, coffee made, and packing finished. My friend got to the house, we played musical vehicles to get hers, and my mom’s in the driveway (we were taking mine), loaded up all luggage (and everything else HAHA), and headed out!!

We drove 6 hours south, into Alabama, with only two stops along the way. Considering it was the 4th of July weekend, traffic was not bad at all! I expected it to be bad, but it wasn’t. Once we were almost to the island, we stopped at the grocery store to get groceries before getting onto the island and picking up the key at the realty office. We did make a stop between the grocery store and the realty office, at the local island bakery, to pick up my mom’s birthday cake that I had made 🙂 (Her birthday IS July 4th). We got to the beach house and unloaded everything.

We rested for a bit, went and ate supper, and then came back to the beach house for the rest of the night. We ate cake, watched TV, and then headed out to the beach for the island’s fireworks show.

After the fireworks, we all went to bed fairly quickly. We were exhausted!

Sunday

Sunday morning was a slow morning. We woke up, made and drank coffee, ate breakfast, and waited for our church’s livestream to start so we could watch the service.

After that, we got ready and headed down to the beach.

We stayed out for around 4 hours, then all came in to shower and get started thinking about supper. We decided to stay in, but did pick up pizza to eat at the house. My mom and I went and picked up the pizza. We had planned to watch the Mexico/England FIFA match, but the cable went on the fritz.

We made cappuccinos and watched Cape Fear. We were up until 2 am watching all 6 episodes that were on Disney+.

Happy Monday!!
