Weekend Update [3.23.26]

It was…a weekend. This will not have much activity, but it is how the weekend played out.

Friday

For the first time in my 43 years of life, I tested positive for the flu.

This was Thursday night when my temp was 101.9 – two fleece blankets (and a cat) on top of me

Thankfully, I felt ok enough that I was still able to function and get some things done.

Since I couldn’t go pick up our usual Friday lunch, I made my own cornbread salad. It was delicious!

Thanks to the shots and prescription, I was back in the normal temperature range by bedtime!

Saturday

I was supposed to go to a 7 am leadership meeting, but for obvious reasons, I did not. I slept in for a little while and then got up around 8 and started my day. I ate breakfast, drank my coffee, and then headed outside to pull some weeds. I was determined to get something done, despite being sick. My sister was out of town for the day, so I let her dog out to run around while my mom also worked in the yard. Thanks to this stupid flu, I kept having to take breaks, but it was nice to be outside.

It was a nice day, but it was also nice to get back inside. The Decadron from the day before had worn off, so I was exhausted. I did manage to get a shower and laundry done, so all in all, it was a successful day 🙂

Sunday

I may not have been at church physically, but it was nice to be able to watch it online.

I’m still hanging in here! LOL

Happy Monday!!
