Monthly Musings: Thanksgiving Prep

It’s time for another Monthly Musing. This time we’re talking about Thanksgiving prep!

1. What are your Thanksgiving plans?

Nothing big. It is usually my mom, my grandmother, and me, and then my sister usually comes in. I figure it will be her and her boyfriend this year. We do cook a big dinner (you have to have all of the things for Thanksgiving) but the group of people is small, but we like it 🙂

2. Favorite Thanksgiving dish?

dressing! I can eat my weight in the dressing!

3. Best food prep tips?

Assemble as much as possible the day/night before!

4. Favorite Thanksgiving traditions?

Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, eating, maybe taking a nap, and playing games together as a family.

5. Turkey? Ham? Other? Both?

Ham! I’m not sure what makes it the best but my mom’s ham is THE BEST!

6. Apple pie? Pumpkin pie?

pumpkin pie!

7. Football or family movie?

I used to watch football (Ole Miss alumna here!), but now I’d prefer a movie 🙂

8. Stuffing or dressing?

this is the South…definitely dressing! I’ve had stuffing and I didn’t like it. I guess it is what you are used to though.

9. Turkey trot or Thanksgiving parade?

Both! If there’s a Turkey Trot that is close by, I’ll go. But, I also like to watch the parade, so if I can manage to get both, GREAT!

10. Have you ever done a Friendsgiving?

Yes! Last year, we did our first Friendsgiving with our church Care Group and another group. It was so much fun, and we already have this year’s planned as well!
