Monthly Musings : Ringing in the New Year

It’s time for another Monthly Musing. This time we’re talking about how we holiday!

1. How do you ring in the New Year?

asleep LOL. I used to stay up and watch the Times Square ball drop on TV, but now, I don’t care. If I stay up, that’s fine, but if I fall asleep, that’s fine too 🙂

2. Any special New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day traditions?

Our local running club has a “Resolution Run” on New Year’s Day. We meet, get in a run, and then eat breakfast. I love it!

3. Favorite New Year’s Eve memories.

I used to get a bottle of Welch’s grape juice and drink that when I watched the ball drop. I know…exciting, right? HA!

4. Show us some New Year’s Eve outfits.

While I do not have plans to be out anywhere on New Year’s Eve night, I will be going to church that morning and I will be wearing this sequin skirt and a purple top.

5. What are you most looking forward to in 2024?

There’s so much, I don’t have time to list it all. But like with every new year, I love the reset, the regroup.

6. Asleep by 10pm or ring in the New Year?

HA!! Probably be asleep by 10 pm!

7. Do you have a word or goals for 2024?

Intentional. More on that later😉

8. Best self-care tips to share in the New Year?

Follow Jesus. Love yourself. Love your people. Exercise. Eat right, whatever that is for you. Just take care of yourself. Don’t beat yourself up. We are all out here just surviving!

9. Paper planner? Electronic planner? None?

Both!! I have a paper planner with EVERYTHING in it, and then I maintain the church calendar, and that is electronic.

10. Black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day — Yea or nay?

Yes! I love black-eyed peas! Although, I don’t always eat them on New Year’s Day. I don’t believe that they will actually bring good luck, good fortune, all of that, but given the opportunity to eat them, count me in!

I love your sparkly skirt and I was surprised how many people in the link up had not eaten black eyed peas. I don’t eat them for luck, but they sure are yummy!!!
