Let’s Look: How I Keep Healthy

Today I’m going to look at: how I stay healthy.

Eating

I try to eat right – not too many carbs, no HFCS (high fructose corn syrup), but I’m not perfect at it. I mean, I don’t binge on Oreos (and, boy do I love them!) or eat Big Macs every week but I do try to make a conscious effort to eat right so that’s better than nothing!

Running

I have a love/hate relationship with running. I mean, running is hard, so that’s the hate part, but more than hate, I LOVE it! I like being outside (when it isn’t summer here in the South) and, when I’m running, I’m either destressing, or figuring things out or planning ahead…or all of the above in one run HA!

Gym

I normally go to the gym 2 days a week but that was with a friend and she got a second job so then, gym time depended on her schedule. But, I have decided, and started this week, that I will be going to the gym at least 3-4 days a week, running on Mondays, strength & running on Tuesday, and strength & running on Thursdays, and possibly running on Saturdays when I can’t get outside early enough to beat the humidity. …and in case you are wondering about my friend, I will still be working out with her when she isn’t working 🙂

Spiritually/Mentally

spiritually: I try to read at least 2 to 3 chapters in my Bible a day. I love actually reading from my Bible but most of the time, there isn’t time to sit and read, so I love having the Bible app on my phone. I can read it while eating my breakfast or lunch, in a waiting room don’t we all hate those?!, or anywhere!

mentally: I stay positive. I’m not going to say that I’ve never been negative about things because I have, but I am a positive person. So much so that negativity gets on my nerves REALLY BAD. Being and staying positive makes the outlook on things, life, whatever, better, and that is definitely healthy!

Great list! I have to remember to use the Bible app on my phone when I am waiting. I usually jump on social media but I could use my waiting times much more effectively.
