Hodgepodge-ing into the New Year [12.31.25]

Happy Wednesday, friends! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup, and it’s the last Hodgepodge of 2025! Let’s do this!! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. Did you make resolutions or set goals for the year we’re waving goodbye? How did that work out for you? Will you set any goals for this new year, new season, or new month? Share one or two if you’d like to share.

I did set some goals in 2025. Some worked out, and some did not. I will set new goals for 2026 or revise the ones I didn’t reach in 2025. I haven’t quite got them all worked out yet, but there is a running list in my head.

2. When did you have the most fun this year?

When I went to Italy with my mom and two friends.

3. What’s a song or song lyric you’ll associate with 2025? Tell us why.

“Goodness of God” by CeCe Winans and “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake. No matter what happens in life, I know God has already taken care of it, and I can trust Him. This is not just for 2025. It is for every year!

“‘Cause all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God”

– “Goodness of God”

“So I throw up my hands
And praise You again and again
‘Cause all that I have is a hallelujah
Hallelujah
And I know it’s not much
But I’ve nothing else fit for a King
Except for a heart singing hallelujah
Hallelujah”

– “Gratitude”

4.   Best (or a favorite) bite of something delicious you tasted this year?

Probably everything I ate in Italy!

5. What do you want to do more of in the new year? Less of?

More of: running, reading, getting blog posts scheduled ahead of time

Less of: worrying about things that are out of my control

6. Insert your own random thought here.

My sinuses are going haywire! This up-and-down weather is messing me up! It seems like I have sinus pressure and a sinus headache every other day. (It may not be that often, but it feels like it sometimes)
