Happy Wednesday, friends! Let’s do this!! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.
1. Fall officially rolls into the Northern Hemisphere on Monday (9/22)…what’s your favorite thing about fall?
Summer’s heat and humidity are gone; mosquitoes are gone; and, the leaves are changing into many different, beautiful colors. Also, it is time to pull out the “cozy” clothes!
2. What’s one thing on your real or proverbial autumn bucket list?
I just want to be able to enjoy being outside on our deck more.
3. Apples, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and cranberries are some of the top fall foods. Which one is your favorite and how do you like it prepared? Any on the list you don’t eat? Which one have you had most recently?
Apples and pumpkins are my favorites, but it also depends on how they are fixed – apple pie and pumpkin spice, to name a couple. I don’t think there are any on this list that I wouldn’t eat. The most recent one I’ve had is pumpkin. I had a pumpkin & pepita loaf from Starbucks.
4. ‘Fall is proof that change is beautiful’ is a popular sentiment. Would you agree or no? Elaborate.
I agree and disagree. Change is sometimes beautiful, but (not trying to be negative) sometimes it is ugly. But, if we are only speaking of fall, then change is definitely beautiful 😉
5. Is there a spot near you where people go to see the leaves change color? Will you try to leaf-peep somewhere this fall? Lonely Planet lists the following ten places as the best for leaf peeping – of those listed, which would you most like to visit?Â
Stowe, Vermont~Shenandoah National Park, Virginia~Columbia River Gorge, Oregon~Zion National Park, Utah~Tennessee/North Carolina border~West Virgina~Northwestern Wyoming~Wisconsin Northwoods~Northern Nevada~Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway, Arkansas
The Tennessee/North Carolina border and Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway, Arkansas are probably the closest to where I live. I know people go to Tennessee/North Carolina to leaf-peep. I don’t but I know it is pretty there. I do not have any plans to leaf-peep, but I can still see some beautiful leaves here in town 🙂 I would like to visit all of the places 😉
