End of July Hodgepodge [7.30.25]

Happy Wednesday, friends! Let’s do this!! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1.  On July 29th 1957, The Tonite Show premiered with Jack Parr as its host. This marked the beginning of the modern-day talk show. Do you watch any daytime or late-night talk shows today? Do you have any thoughts on the hubbub surrounding the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, or are you more in the camp of ‘who is Stephen Colbert?

I don’t watch any daytime or late-night talk shows. I used to, but I don’t have the time now.

As far as what is going on with the cancellation, I honestly don’t care. I am more in the camp of Who is Stephen Colbert?”. I do know who he is, but I couldn’t care less about whether he is on TV or not.

2. What’s the best part of your day?

The moment I am showered, in my PJs, ready to cuddle with cats, eat supper, and watch TV 🙂

3. What’s something your generation does that you actually dislike?

The only thing I can think of is that a lot (but definitely not all!) in my generation now seem to be raising children where church isn’t a priority. That is not how we were raised. Jesus, church, and all the great things that come with both are important. I don’t get why it doesn’t seem important to them anymore. I need Jesus all day, every day, and I need to go to curch regularly.

4.  When you cook, do you clean as you go, or clean it all up once you’re finished cooking? What’s the last thing you cooked/baked in your own kitchen?

When I cook, I clean as I go. Otherwise, I can’t enjoy my food if I know dishes are waiting.

I don’t remember the last thing I cooked. I haven’t had the time, or made the time, to cook anything. Currently, cooking primarily involves using the oven or microwave.

5. Sum up your July in ten words or less.

Hot, humid, Independence Day, Mom’s birthday.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

It’s almost August 1st, so it’s almost pre-fall! 🙂
