Dream Libraries We All Wish We Had

Our topic for this week is: bookish wishes. Since I don’t really have a lot, I thought I’d list the top ten inspirations for dream libraries, real or imaginary.

1. The fictional library in Beauty & the Beast, but inspired by the Admont Abbey Library

It’s Beauty & the Beast 🙂

2. George Peabody Library, in Baltimore, Maryland

The railings, and the 6 floors of books!

3. Library of Muyinga, Burundi

This is like a reading porch, with hammocks! Yes, please!

4. National Library of France

The design!

5. Rijksmuseum Research Library, in Amsterdam

The wood, the railings, the skylights, the windows, and the arches!

6. Royal Portuguese Reading Room, in Rio de Janeiro

I mean, look at those colors!

7. State Library of South Australia

The wood, the railing, and the skylight!

8. Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, in Canada

The design, the lighting, the ceiling!

9. Trinity College Library, in Dublin, Ireland

Look at all of that dark wood!…and I love the letters for each row of books!
