[DECEMBER] 2021: Book Review

It’s time to look at the books I read in December!

The Rose Code by Kate Quinn

Yes, you are seeing this correctly. I have given this a 5 star review. I am surprised
too. I don’t normally like historical books, but I am so glad I went ahead and read
this book! I will admit, I did have a hard time getting into it (although it may have
been me…life was starting to go crazy busy at the time), but it didn’t take long to
get so engrossed in their lives that I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to read more!
Now, to give a very quick synopsis, this book is about codebreakers, mostly
female, during World War II. It takes place in England, and follows the lives of
different women, and men, as they work to break codes and help defeat the
Nazis. While it is fiction, for the most part, the events and most of the characters
are real, but the names are slightly different than real-life. The book is mostly
about Osla, Mab, and Beth but there are so many other great characters that we
see. I don’t feel like I can even put into words how great this book is, other than, I
couldn’t put it down, and I’m still thinking about it!
