[AUGUST] Book Review

I’m playing catch up but… I still wanted to document the books I read this year and my thoughts on each.

At Home in the World by Tsh Oxenreider
       ★.5

Tsh chronicles her family’s adventures as they travel around the world. Tsh and her

husband, both expats, met in Kosovo, eventually moved back to the States, and had
three children (all under 10). Being at home for those four years were nice but they
both continues to have wanderlust. Since the children were old enough to carry their
own backpacks but yong enough to be “uprooted”, they decided to plan a nine
month-long trip. They traveled around the world and found what it was like to be
lost, but yet at home, in the world.

Someone Else’s Love Story by Joshilyn Jackson

This book was the second selection for MMD’s 2020 Reading Challenge prompt “three

books by the same author”. This book is about Shandi, a 21-year-old single mother
and college student. Honestly, she has a lot going on, and then, happens to find
herself in a convenience store when an armed robbery goes down. It is also a story
about William, who has problems of his own, but becomes a hero during the robbery.
This book has a lot going on plotwise (destiny, divorce, science, love, faith,
forgiveness, a virgin birth, resurrection, friendship, etc.). I did struggle to get through
some of the chapters (I have seen other comments that others have struggled too)
which is why I gave it 3 stars. It is a good book if you can get past the “slow” parts of
      the book.
