Share Our Lives: Ways to Stay Warm in Winter

It’s the second Monday of the month, so it’s time to share our lives. This month, we share our ways to stay warm in winter. How appropriate too! We are back to doing winter here in the South…and I love it!

Dress in warm layers.

Not just warm layers, but warm layers out of the right fabrics, such as wool. “Layers” also means that items can come off as we heat up.

Drink a hot beverage.

I prefer coffee or tea, but sometimes, an occasional hot chocolate.

Let the sunshine in.

Opening the shades and letting the sunshine in adds warmth just ask the cats 😉

Eat soup

Soup is always a good winter food!

Blankets, lots of blankets

We have blankets in the bedrooms, the living room, and the office.

Lap cats (or dogs)

They are like little heaters, but cute!

Fireplace

It is warm and cozy!

Plan ahead.

Check the weather, and plan your clothes. If I know it is warm when I leave the house, but that the temperature is going to drop all day, I will take a coat or jacket. I do know that sometimes the weather changes quickly. I am a planner, and yet, I have still been caught out in the cold because it changed quickly.

All great tips! I do pretty good planning ahead weather wise in my day to day life but I’ve definitely gotten caught unprepared on vacation when the weather turned from what it was supposed to be when I packed.
