What’s Up Wednesday :: [1.28.26]

It’s the last Wednesday of the month, so it’s time to link up with Shaeffer & Shay for What’s Up Wednesday!

What I’m Eating

Well, at the beginning of this week, we were eating whatever could be heated up on the gas stove, because we did not have power. Now, thankfully, we have power, so now it is whatever we still have in the house until we can safely get out again. We did have ingredients for soup, so today, it is soup 🙂

What I’m Reminiscing About

Since we are now recovering from Ice Storm 2026, I am remembering Ice Storm 1994. As far as damage, 2026 has been worse. As far as us not having power sooner, 1994 was worse. We were without power for 2 weeks, but we also lived in a much more rural area. Now, we live in the downtown area. However, the damage this time has been worse, and the ice has hung around much longer. It has been colder too. But, all of this said, we have still been so blessed, and are thankful that we are all here! (These pictures don’t even come close to showing how truly bad it is. These are just the ones I got while out walking near our neighborhood.)

What I’m Loving

Lattes at home 🙂

What I’ve Been Up To

Still job searching… but also, getting things done around the house and for church.

What I’m Dreading

In 5 months, we will be back to the South’s summer humidity and mosquitoes, but until then, I’m dreading nothing.

What I’m Working On

purging and organizing my bedroom closets and the office desk.

What I’m Excited About

A 25K run on February 14th, in Arkansas. I’m a little nervous too. We will be running through a creek twice! The creek could be ankle deep or waist deep. I’m praying for ankle deep, or nothing at all LOL. I really am excited about doing this run, though. It is something new 🙂
