Monthly Musings : Summer Vacation Guide

It’s time for another Monthly Musing!! This time I’m talking about our summer vacation guide.

1. Share your summer trips for 2025.

The beach 🙂

2. How do you manage the post-vacation laundry?

Unless it is late in the day when we arrive back home, I usually start unpacking, sorting, and washing right away.

3. Most memorable summer vacation?

All of our family vacations to Folly Beach, SC, were the most memorable, but I will have to say that the trip my mom and I took to Bar Harbor, ME, in July 2018 would be right up there as a most memorable summer vacation too!

4. Do you cook or eat out on vacation?

We usually cook (or make) breakfast and lunch at the house (beachhouse/room/whatever) and then eat out for dinner, but not always. If we are not at the beach, but on an “adventure”, then we will eat lunch out as well.

5. Are you an overpacker, underpacker, or just-right packer?

I used to be an overpacker, and I guess I probably still am, but if flying, I have learned to be a just-right packer.

6. Beach, lake, or mountains?

Beach.

7. Road trip or fly?

I wish I liked being on the road, but I don’t, so I will pick flying every time if given the choice.

8. Favorite vacation activities?

It depends on the vacation, but just summing them all up into one answer – lying on the beach, kayaking, hiking, exploring, eating, etc.

9. Best packing tips?

Packing and/or compression cubes. I won’t pack any other way now.

10. Favorite road trip songs?

I don’t know that we have any specific road trip songs. We just find the music we like on the radio in the area, or if there’s Sirius or Bluetooth, we just find something on our phones or apps.
