Weekend Update [5.12.25]

It was a good weekend! It was a nice and dry race weekend!

Friday

Friday afternoon, my mom and I went to the church to get the computer cords under control (remember, we just moved into our new sanctuary). Once that was done, I came back home, and spent the rest of the evening relaxing, eating supper, and reading.

Saturday

I was up at 4:30 to feed the cats, get dressed, and drive an hour south for the last of the three-race weekends I’ve mentioned before. The race was starting at 7:30, so I needed to go early enough to pick up my packet, use the bathroom, and stretch. It was in the 60s and not raining, so it was a nice morning for running. Also, for the first time since I started running, I ran for a whole mile. I know that’s not a big deal to most runners, but I have an issue pacing myself, and I start too fast.

I was back home by 10, and I spent most of the day doing laundry, relaxing, and getting things ready for church the next morning. I did have to go back down to the church for something, but soon I was back home, eating supper, watching TV, and loving on cats.

Sunday

Sunday was Mother’s Day!! Our Sunday morning routine was the same – Starbucks on the way to church – but when we got to church, I helped get the Clubhouse Kids’ (ages 3-9) Mother’s Day breakfast ready. Another lady and our Children’s Director worked most of the day Saturday getting it all set up. By 9, the mothers were coming in. We started doing this last year, and I see that this will be the tradition from now on. It was also bigger than last year, so we were thankful to have our multipurpose building to use this time. Sunday School was great, worship was great, we honored all the Moms, and the Word was great 🙂 It was a great day!

After church, my mom and I went to eat and then came home. We spent the day together, doing what we love 🙂

Happy Monday!
