It was a pretty good weekend, running the Sylamore trail in Arkansas!
Friday
Friday, we drove to Mountain View, Arkansas, picked up our race packets, ate dinner, and then checked into the cabin for the night.
Saturday
We were up bright and early, and prepared for cold and rain…and 25K of fun LOL

We crossed a creek within the first 2 miles…
…hiked under rocky overhangs, over wet rocks, through “fields” of moss, in front of “waterfalls”, along the creek…

….and gained an elevation of 2, 067 feet…

…followed by the same, in reverse…
…and reached the finish line just as the rain started picking up.

We got our finisher’s glass and our time printout and headed back to the cabin. We were freezing! We showered, warmed up, rested, got dressed, and headed out for dinner. After this, we called it a night. We were tired!

Sunday
Sunday morning, we packed up and headed home. On the way out, we had plans to meet up with a former coworker and friend of Tracy’s, as well as his wife. He is battling brain cancer, and she hadn’t seen him in a while, so, since we were in the area, she wanted to meet up with them. Breakfast was delicious, and the company was great as well.
After breakfast, we made the 4-hour drive home, with a few stops on the way to stretch and get snacks 🙂
Happy Monday!!
