Sweet as Honey Hodgepodge

Happy Wednesday, friends! Let’s do this!! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. May 20th is World Bee Day…what’s something that’s kept you ‘busy as a bee’ lately?

Life HAHA!

2. Do you like honey? What’s something you make or enjoy that calls for honey?

I do love honey 🙂 I don’t eat it much (it has been a long while, now that I think about it), but chicken dipped in honey is delicious!

3. “Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.” Proverbs 16:24

What’s a proverb you love, or one that speaks to you or has helped you in some way?

The Bible is full of Proverbs, a whole book in fact, if that helps with your answer. The word proverb is defined as ‘a short pithy saying in general use, stating a general truth or piece of advice’.

It is not even out of Proverbs (though Proverbs has a lot of great ones there), but 2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” It has helped me so many times!

4. Tell us about a ‘sweet’ moment in your life recently that filled you with joy, gratitude, or peace.

It was something so simple, but I was having one of those mornings when my outfit wasn’t making me happy (it wasn’t the look I expected), but I didn’t have time to change. When I picked up my coffee, this was written on it. I’ve never had something like this written on my coffee, but it made me happy, and I no longer cared about my outfit. (I did finally accept that it was fine HAHA).

5.  When you were a child, what did you want to ‘be’ when you grew up? How close did you come to that?

I wanted to be a pediatrician. I made it to college and took a lot of classes toward that goal, but soon figured out that I wasn’t going to make it. I am now an engineer (I actually have a Math degree). Don’t feel sorry for me, though – I now do a job at church that I love, and I wouldn’t have been able to do that as a pediatrician. God had a plan the whole time 🙂

6. Insert your own random thought here.

86 days until we head to the beach (…and for those wondering, 164 until we head to Italy) 🙂
