Monthly Musings : Winter Fun/Valentine’s Day

It’s time for another Monthly Musing, and it’s the first one of 2026!! Today, we are here to muse about winter fun and Valentine’s Day.

1. Describe your winter so far in one word.

Icy (considering what it currently looks like). I’m sure this will be a word that will stand for Winter ’25/’26 as a whole, even if the whole winter isn’t icy.

2. What winter activities have you never tried but want to?

Ice skating. I’m not sure why I’ve never done it, but I haven’t…yet. I have been snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, dogsledding, and …I feel like I’m forgetting something…

3. Favorite winter beverage?

Peppermint Mocha. But really, anything hot – coffee, hot chocolate, chai latte.

4. Least favorite winter chore?

Shoveling…though it is rare that we have to.

5. Soup or chili?

Both!

6. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, both, or neither?

Both. I used to like milk chocolate more, but I’ve gotten to where I would rather have dark chocolate now.

7. Share your galentine’s or Valentine’s Day plans.

Nothing, other than running a 25K trail run in Arkansas.

8. Do you dress festive for Valentine’s Day?

No, not really. I might wear some red or pink. I do have a sweatshirt that has “I don’t need a valentine. I need a nap” that I do like to wear sometimes, but it isn’t a holiday that I think I “have” to dress festive for.

9. Do you make any sweet treats for Valentine’s Day?

No…but if someone makes some, I will be more than happy to “sample” them LOL.

10. What is your love language?

Quality Time, followed closely by Words of Affirmation. I could have told you that without a test, though 🙂
