Monthly Musings : Kicking Off Summer

It’s time for another Monthly Musing!! This time I’m talking about kicking off summer.

1. What are you looking forward to most this summer?

Vacation Bible School at the end of June/first of July & a beach trip in August!

2. Any favorite summer traditions?

I don’t have any summer traditions. When we were going to the beach as a family every year, I guess that was the tradition, but then my grandparents got older, and we stopped going. Now, I don’t think we do anything that I would consider a tradition. We just do whatever 🙂

3. Any summer travel plans? Please dish.

4. How do you red, white, and blue?

Minimally. I don’t do any decorating, but I may wear a patriotic shirt, or some red, white, and/or blue. I do have a festive red/white/blue ponytail holder with stars on it.

5. Beach, lake, or pool?

I would say, beach and pool. I wouldn’t turn down a trip to the lake, but I would prefer a beach or pool.

6. Favorite summer sweet treat?

Ice cream or gelato!

7. Favorite sunscreens and self-tanners?

I don’t have a favorite sunscreen, but I have one I know I can trust. I am a blond with fair skin, so I need good protection. I have used Banana Boat Sport 50+ SPF for a long time, and it hasn’t let me down. I don’t use self-tanners.

8. Best flip flops or sandals?

These are some of my favorite sandals. I have them in three colors – navy, black, and taupe.

9. How are you staying fit this summer?

Making the most of my gym membership because it will be too hot to be running outside in the afternoons. On the rare occasions that I can get outside early enough on Saturday mornings (I mean, as soon as it is daylight), I will run outside.

10. Favorite summer-themed movies?

Grease, Mamma Mia, Dirty Dancing, Under the Tuscan Sun, Jaws, Parent Trap, just to name a few. I know there are so many more that I couldn’t think of.
