Memorial Day Weekend Update [5.27.25]

It was a good Memorial weekend, although it was a rainy one!

Friday

I didn’t do much on Friday afternoon besides laundry and relaxing.

Saturday

I had planned to run Saturday morning. I knew rain and storms were in the forecast, so I went ahead and set my alarm, hoping for the best. When the alarm went off, it was stormy, so I went back to sleep. When I did wake up, I fed the cats and read my Bible reading for the morning.

Since it was raining, I spent the rest of the day relaxing, finishing laundry, and getting church work done.

Sunday

Sunday was like most Sunday mornings – Starbucks, no extra classes, etc. Sunday School was great, worship was great, and the preaching was great 🙂

After church, my mom, three friends, and I went to eat lunch together, which was great as well. As we were driving home, we drove into a very windy downpour. The wind was worse than the rain, but it was so bad that we decided we were not going anywhere else. (Before leaving church, we had decided we were all going to see “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning” at 4 pm.) Needless to say, it was sunny and not raining within 5-10 minutes of getting home. So, we got dressed and headed to the movie. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend it 🙂

By the time we got out of the movie, it was 7 pm, and the bottom was about to fall out…and fall out it did, as soon as I got out of the parking lot! I was an absolute monsoon on the way home. Thankfully, I only live a few minutes from the theater, but it was still pretty bad to drive in. Everyone made it home safely. We ate a little something, and then relaxed the rest of the night.

Monday

Monday was Memorial Day, which meant we were off work. It was a low-key, rainy day. Nothing exciting – we spent it inside doing the things we love 🙂 We did a lot of kitty cuddling, coffee drinking, and TV watching.

Happy Monday!
