Luckily, It’s the Hodgepodge 3.18.26

Happy Wednesday, friends! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup. Let’s do this!! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. St. Patrick’s Day lands on March 17th. Do you believe in luck? Are there things you do thinking they’ll bring good luck or things you avoid because they’re considered bad luck?

I don’t believe in luck. Everything happens for a reason. Proverbs 16:9 says “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”

I may joke about something bringing good or bad luck, but I don’t truly believe it.

2. Forest-lime-sage-mint-olive-emerald…what’s your favorite shade of green?

I really like them all in some form. But if I am picking a favorite (or two), I would say mint and emerald.

3. In Ireland, the meal on this day is often a hearty beef or lamb stew served with colcannon (mashed potato mixed with cabbage and leeks). In the US, corned beef and cabbage is the more typical St. Patty’s Day meal. Will you/did you mark the day with one of these dishes? Baked-fried-roasted-mashed…what’s your favorite way to eat a potato?

I probably won’t be eating either of these dishes, at least not planned. (Not that I would turn it down, though, if given the chance to eat some). My favorite way to eat a potato is mashed, followed closely by fried (as in fries LOL)

4. What color of the rainbow best represents your personality/mood today? Tell us why.

Yellow. It is happy and sunny 🙂 This is what Google AI says about the color yellow –> The color yellow symbolizes happiness, warmth, and optimism, linked to the sun, energy, and intellect.

5. Which ‘lucky’ quote resonates with you? Elaborate.

‘Luck is not something you can mention in the presence of self-made men.’ E.B. White

‘Diligence is the mother of good luck.” Benjamin Franklin

‘Luck is where opportunity meets preparation.’ Seneca

‘Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.’ Ralph Waldo Emerson

‘Luck is where opportunity meets preparation.’ Seneca. Things don’t just happen. You have to work for it. Yes, the opportunity may arise, but one must be prepared.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We had at least 3, maybe all, seasons within 24 hours between Sunday and Monday LOL. The high was 78 Sunday, it got stormy (as in tornadic) that night, and by Monday, we had snow and freeze warnings. It was a wild ride!

I really like emerald green and I am the same when it comes to potatoes, I love them in all forms but mashed and fried are my favourite.
Oh gosh! You have been having all of the weather. I hope it warms up for you soon.
