Happy Wednesday, friends! Let’s do this!! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. What gives you energy? What takes it away?
What gives you energy? Coffee and sleep give me energy. Seriously, though, getting things done and checking off the to-do list gives me energy. Having the windows open when the temperature is just right also gives me energy.

What takes it away? Negativity takes away my energy. Being around too many people takes my energy.

2. How often do you shop for clothes? What accessory do you always wear?
HAHA I plead the fifth!! I shop online, sometimes once a week, but I rarely make a purchase. I do get on a buying kick sometimes and buy a few things when there is a great sale…or if I need something. But for the most part, I shop but don’t buy.
I always wear my fitness watch.
3. What’s something free that you feel grateful for?
God’s love and grace; friendships; my wonderful relationship with my mom; being outside (when it’s not hot).

4. Breakfast, lunch, dinner…which meal of the day do you enjoy most? What’s your go-to comfort food?
The meal I enjoy the most is dinner. I am usually at home, it’s the end of the day, and I can relax.
My go-to comfort food is Southern cooking.
5. This week, the world remembers the tragic events of 9/11. Do you mark the day in any way? How do historical events shape your perspective on your personal challenges?
I don’t mark September 11th in any way, but I know that there hasn’t been a single September 11th since that I haven’t thought back to the events of that day.
Huge events like September 11, 2001, make me realize that, while I did not have anyone I knew involved in the tragedies, I am still blessed to be here, and to still have my friends and loved ones. It also reminds me that, just because we are sick, or late trying to get somewhere, it may be God saving us from something. I still remember so many stories about people who were running late for work that morning, for many different reasons, and they survived…because they were late.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Since getting back from the beach, I am struggling to get my blogging back under control, but I almost have it together! HAHA

You reminded me of all the stories post-9/11 of people who weren’t there on the day, but should have been. I would agree with you about Southern cooking. It’s a comfort. Hope you enjoyed your beach trip!
