Happy Wednesday, friends! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup. Let’s do this!! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. The Hodgepodge lands on Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent. Do you mark this season in some way? Will you be giving something up or adding something to your life in this Lenten season?
I do not mark this season in any way. I didn’t grow up in a denomination that celebrates Lent, but we do celebrate Palm Sunday and Easter.
2. Pancakes…are you a fan? Syrup or no syrup? Plain, blueberries, chocolate chips, bananas, or some other add-in? Are pancakes on your menu this week?
I am a fan of pancakes, but I don’t eat them a lot. I usually have them plain, with syrup. I am not opposed to trying them with blueberries, chocolate chips, or other things, but when I get them, I usually just want them plain. Pancakes are not on the menu, but given the opportunity, I might eat some.
3. Tell us about a time recently when you felt ‘spread too thin’.
I would say the last time I felt spread thin was when I was working, doing my volunteer church work, getting ready for our vacation to Italy, and coordinating the annual 5K fundraiser run. Now that I’m laid off:/, and the run and vacation is over, I am no longer spread thin LOL
4. What’s your favorite jewel or gemstone? In terms of your wardrobe, would we find more gem tones, pastels, black and white, or primary colors?
I’m not sure if I have a favorite jewel or gemstone. In terms of my wardrobe, I think it is really a mixture of everything. Maybe less black and white, but there is some of that in there, too.
5. What responsibility do you think is hardest about being in charge?
In life, paying bills. With work, (trying to) manage people.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Speaking of being laid off, that has allowed me the time and opportunity to volunteer with a disaster relief group that has come in to help locally after the recent ice storm. So far, I have only been able to help one day, but I really enjoyed it, and I will definitely be volunteering more!

Comments
I like pancakes but only ever eat them on Pancake Day which was yesterday so I had my fill.
It sounds like you had a busy time of it when you were spread too thin. Well done on volunteering with the disaster relief group.
It’s nice you’re able to volunteer and feel like you’re helping someone. I have several friends who volunteer with various disaster relief groups and they stay busy with what feels like so many needs. One is with the Red Cross and she travels for them, sometimes is away for several weeks at a time. Hope you have a great day!
