Happy Wednesday, friends! Let’s do this!! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. June 10th is National Herbs and Spices Day. Besides salt and pepper, what herb or spice container do you reach for most often? Is there a spice you truly dislike? What’s a recent dish you made that called for more than salt and pepper?
Garam Masala is the one I reach for most often because I add it to my scrambled eggs. There may be a spice I dislike, but I can’t think of one at the moment. I can’t even remember the last dish I made.
2. It’s been said, ‘variety is the spice of life’…in what way is this true for you? Elaborate.
Just dealing with people adds variety. Life would be boring if not for the variety (spice) people bring.
3. What’s something in your life that adds ‘spice’ (excitement, intensity) even if it also comes with challenge or unpredictability?
I am a creature of habit and routine, so I am not very spontaneous. However, I feel like traveling brings excitement, and trail running brings intensity 🙂
4. If you could instantly master one skill or hobby, what would it be and why?
Playing the piano. I took piano lessons as a kid, but wasn’t interested like I thought I would be, so we stopped going.
5. We’re halfway through the year…what’s one book, movie, or activity you’ve loved this year that you’d recommend to others?
Book: “Orphan Train”. It is a historical fiction book, but it is based on a true historical event. It was so beautifully written that I still think about it often.
Movie: The only movie that currently comes to mind is “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning”. I know that is a genre that some may not like, but I liked it.
Activity: Reading the Bible, following “Bible Recap”. I am on track with the daily readings. Even if someone doesn’t want to follow the Bible Recap, I would still recommend reading the Bible every day, and a plan of some sort helps hold a person accountable.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
My childhood best friend gets married this week, so we are gearing up for wedding weekend!
