Happy Wednesday, friends! Let’s do this!! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. Do you make an effort to see/hear live music? Last time you went somewhere for the live music?
I don’t usually make an effort to ear live music. I usually don’t have time, and live music isn’t a priority. However, when our local Symphony season opens, and they have performances, I do usually try to make those.

The last time I heard live music was Sunday night. We had a Southern gospel singing at our church, and, besides a local group from the church, we heard Karen Peck and New River. I’m not a huge Southern gospel fan, but I can listen to some, and Karen Peck (and our local group) are two of the very, very few.

2. According to HGTV the colors of the year for 2026 are mostly decided. Top paint companies declare a color of the year, and decorators will incorporate that into their new year home and room designs. Here’s what’s on tap in terms of paint trends for 2026 (check out the link here to see photos)
- Sherwin-Williams-universal khaki (inspired by heavy canvas and outdoor gear)
- Behr–hidden gem (a confident shade of teal)
- Valspar–warm eucylyptus (a warm sliver tinted green)
- Dutch Boy–melodious ivory (a honey tinted beige)
- Glidden–warm mahogany (a classic brick red)
- Krylon–matte coffee bean
- Clark and Kensington –Hazelnut Crunch (warm reddish-brown)
- Graham and Brown–Divine Damson (cherry red with a subtle violet undertone)
- Dunn and Edwards–midnight garden (the green that works everywhere)
First question-did you know there were so many different paint manufacturers?
I knew there were a lot of different manufacturers, but there are two or three on the list that I had not heard of.
Which color on the list most appeals to you in terms of your own decorating style?
I am a neutral-color-on-the-wall type person, but there are several that I would love as accents, or maybe even an accent wall: Hidden Gem, Warm Eucalyptus, Midnight Garden, Coffee Bean, and even Divine Damson for an accent wall, and all of the above plus warm mahogany for other room accents.
Do you have plans to do any painting in your home in the coming year, and if so might you choose a color from this list?
I don’t have plans to paint anything, but I do really like Divine Damson and Hidden Gem for something!
Now, forget painting walls, which color name appeals to you most?
If only considering the name, Coffee bean….because, DUH, coffee!
3. What’s something in your life you have to do-watch-or participate in that’s about as exciting as ‘watching paint dry’?
Hmmm….I’m at a loss on this one. Taxes, maybe?
4. Tuesday, October 14th is/was National Dessert day…did you/will you celebrate? Tell us how? What’s your absolute favorite dessert. Yes, just one. I know!!
I did not celebrate. However, if I had been given some tiramisu, I would have!! (It’s fine. I’ll celebrate later in Italy)
5. Perhaps today is the day I will __________________________________.
….get everything on my to-do list done! I have to work on getting everything together for our annual Kingdom Run fundraiser, get prepared for a 25K trail run, make sure my costume is ready for Trunk or Treat, and work on packing in a carry-on for Italy. I know there are a few other things, but these are the ones at the top of the list.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Italy “falls back” a week before the United States does. We will “fall back” while en route to Italy. That’s confusing, huh? I’m so glad our phones will know what time it is after we land!

Comments
Definitely helps that our phones know what zone we’re in even if we don’t. A trip to Italy sounds wonderful. I’d struggle a bit with just a carry on. I am not a light packer. Have a great day!
I love the sound of your local Symphony performances.
Good luck with your to-do list! It sounds like you have a lot on!
