Monthly Musings : Happy 250th Birthday America

It’s time for another Monthly Musing!! Today, we are here to muse about: Happy 250th Birthday America!!

1. Are you excited about America 250?

Yes!! This past weekend, I was honored to be able to participate in our state’s celebration of America 250.

These are just a very small few (out of almost 1300) that I borrowed from the professional pictures.

2. Did you purchase any fun America 250 items?

I did not purchase anything, but I have seen a lot of things I want LOL

3. Do you make any red, white, and blue-themed appetizers, sides, or desserts?

No. I have before, but it is not a regular occurrence.

4. Do you like fireworks?

Yes…but with that being said, only in a designated place. I don’t like the random neighborhood fireworks. I know too many animals that are scared by them, and enough people with PTSD, and even older folks, who are nervous. That’s when they bother me.

5. Do you dress in red, white, and blue themes?

Yes 🙂

6. What are your plans for the 4th of July?

Driving to the beach with my mom and my best friend, and then hopefully being able to see the island fireworks show from the beach house.

7. Do you remember the bicentennial in 1976?

No. I was born 6 years later.

8. What is your favorite patriotic song?

Proud to Be An American by Lee Greenwood. I also love the Star Spangled Banner. I tear up every time!

9. Favorite 4th of July memory?

Flying to Boston with my mom. We flew into Boston on the 4th and then drove from Boston to Bar Harbor, ME, the next day.

10. Have you ever participated in a local 4th of July parade or event?

I don’t think I have. There was (and may still be) a local Fourth of July event on the grounds of an old courthouse. There was political speeches, singing, entertainment, food, and so much more. I did attend that many, many times as a child and teen.

Love the photos from the America 250 event you attended – how exciting! Your plans for the 4th sounds great too.
I also have seen many patriotic items I’d like to purchase, but have restrained myself somewhat. LOL
    Happy Independence Day!
