A Pound of Hodgepodge [3.4.26]

Happy Wednesday, friends! It’s time for Joyce‘s Wednesday Hodgepodge linkup. Let’s do this!! Here are this week’s questions with my answers in italics.

1. As the saying goes, ‘March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.’ Did your March come in roaring or like some other animal? Every month carries with it certain feelings, which is why some people love and anticipate December and others dread it. How do you feel about the month of March?

It started out more like a lamb, but the last two days, I’ve had a sinus headache (pressure) so it was feeling more like a lion then. I know there are worse things, but these sinus headaches get old when they are back-to-back.

I actually like the month of March. Not sure why, except maybe that daffodils are blooming and spring is on its way.

2. Where in your life are you a lion? Where are you a lamb?

I am a lion when someone is messing with my family or friends. (Blame it on my ISFJ personality) I do not play. I am a lamb if you leave me alone LOL. Seriously, though, I am a pretty chill person.

3. The Hodgepodge lands on National Pound Cake Day. Do you like pound cake? If so, do you have a favorite flavor?

I do like pound cake. I think the only flavor I’ve ever had is lemon, and I do like that.

Let’s play this or that-

pound cake or pie? Depends on the pie, but I would probably still pick pie.

pound cake or layer cake? Again, it depends on the layer cake, but there aren’t many layer cakes that I don’t like.

pound cake or cheesecake? Definitely cheesecake!

pound cake or angel food cake? I like them almost equally, but I would probably lean more toward angel food cake.

pound cake or brownie? Oh, definitely brownie!!

4. What makes you feel childlike wonder right now?

Daffodils…seriously. When I look outside the French doors, and I see that bright pop of yellow from the big bunch of daffodils, it makes me so happy, what I would equate to the excitement a child feels when he or she gets a new toy 🙂

5. What’s one thing you need to add to your wardrobe to get ready for spring? If you’re in the southern hemisphere, then answer for fall?

Maybe some more linen..? Because right after spring is a southern summer, and it will be hot and humid.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

So, I had a thought when I saw someone in the neighborhood burning limbs or leaves or something, during high winds (the kind that the weather warns us about)🤦‍♀️ …if the wind picks up an ember, and it blows into a yard and starts a fire, and worse, catches a house on fire, can he or she be charged with arson?

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon.
I do love daffodils, they are such a cheery flower and I am the same when it comes to my family, mess with them and hear me roar!

  2. Joyce

Sinus headaches are miserable. I hope you feel better soon. Daffodils are the saving grace of March : ) I don’t know the answer to your fire question, but people aren’t smart sometimes. Yikes.
