Book Villians

Our topic for this week is Villains (favorite, best, worst, lovable, creepiest, most evil, etc.). As I was researching, (because I couldn’t think of 10 off the top of my head), I came across a few villains from children’s books. I decided it would be fun to look at ten villains from children’s books 🙂

1. The Grinch

I very loosely consider him a villain because, in the end, he changed. His heart grew three sizes 🙂

2. The Wicked Witch of the West (from “The Wizard of Oz”)

Again, loosely considered a villain, because, well, read/watch Wicked. They asked for it!

3. Cruella De Vil (from “101 Dalmatians”)
4. The Sea Witch (from”The Little Mermaid”)
5. Shere Khan (from “The Jungle Book”)
6. Miss Trunchbull (from “Matilda”)
7. Captain Hook (from “Peter Pan”)
8. The Wicked Stepmothers (in both “Cinderella” and “Snow White”)
9. The Big Bad Wolf
10. White Witch (from “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe”)

The Grinch is my favorite kind of “villain.” I love stories where someone who acts grumpy or unkind or bitter changes their tune because of a life-changing experience or TLC from kind people, etc. These are so much more interesting to me than those villains that are pure evil for no real reason. That being said, I do love Ursula the Sea Witch. She makes me laugh.

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
